How are you enjoying Black Ops anway, Street? Better than MW2?

I must say I am enjoying it much more than MW2 so far. Noob Tubes and RPG's aren't flying everywhere during every game, I'm not getting stabbed after putting a half a clip into some Super Soldier, and there aren't Harriers all over the place. It's great.
I do play Combat Training more, for me that's a bit more fun to do lol.

Don't forget that this is the weekend. I'm no networking wizard but I know that there are many times more people on the internet than there are during the weekdays at any given time. It can easily affect gaming online.

Ok, so I think I know why I don't really like Black Ops that much. I mean it's a great game to pick up and play a few casual matches if you have a little bit of time but I just don't seem to enjoy it and I would much rather play MAG or some older FPS of mine even though Black Ops is relatively new and I have put many hours into the likes of MAG.
What I think it is is that Black Ops doesn't present enough of a challenge to keep me engaged in it. What I mean is that there isn't much of a community to it, this includes the clan system which is non existent and adds another sense of achievement and challenge playing against clans. Also the mass number of people who play it, if you do bad you can quit the lobby and find a new one with completely different people, while this is good I don't think I have ever seen the same person on more than one occasion which also decreases competitiveness as you don't play knowing that 'X' beat you last time and you want to get them back for an example which is another thing I love in competitive gaming.
Another thing is that Black Ops is too easy to do well on. I do think that it is a huge step up from Modern Warfare 2 in terms of the maps, the non kill streak stacking and the semi weapon balancing. But still it is too easy to do well on and not much of a challenge to, I mean this past week I decided to camp and see how high I could get my weekly kill death ratio in the first 5 matches until I showed up on the leaderboards. Now I don't mean to brag but it backs up my point of Black Ops being too easy, I managed to get 118 kills for 10 deaths, while having 350 points per minute. This shows what I mean, anyone can camp and do well it's just a matter of being bothered to.
Whereas in other games eg. MAG (Sorry to be going on about MAG, it's not perfect either but it's just the game I have been playing for the past year) if you camp you will not do nearly as well as someone who runs and guns, because of this being the case it's much harder to well kd wise on. This is a flaw of the whole Call Of Duty franchise though with the higher (but more realistic I know) bullet damage, as it takes few bullets to kill someone. Which in my opinion caters more to the wider audience, which game developers are always trying to do as more audience = more $, but it removes a lot of the skill required. Whereas in games where it takes longer to kill someone if you camp you won't necessarily be guaranteed to do well as a skilled player has the ability to jump or dive out of the way eg Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, MAG. And it's not just who sees who first wins.
I know that I could play more of a run and gun style to my usual 'aggressive camper' style which is the play style which is the best and most reliable in the Call Of Duty games in my opinion. I do do this from time to time but it isn't reliable that you will do well and I find myself getting annoyed when my connection blatantly lets me down and I die because of it. I could and do use the other more under used weapons for more of a challenge, but these are under used for a reason, guns like the china lake suck.
I don't find BO all that satisfying either, I mean one of the games which were part of my high kd 5 matches I went 31-0, it finished but it didn't feel that great. I beat up on some defenceless players with a chopper gunner for about half of those kills and for some reason it didn't feel like I played amazingly even though that's a sublime score getting almost half of my teams kills without dying. I think is could be blamed on the kill streaks giving out free kills. The games which I enjoy and do better relatively on, like I said before are Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, MAG, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and BioShock 2. All which don't have kill streak rewards. While kill streaks are a good goal to get and can be satisfying when you achieve them I find they cheapen the experience for me and I think I have now got around 150 chopper gunners so the effect has worn off also.
Now I know that I could go and play barebones so there's no killstreaks, or compete in game battles for tougher competition or just go back to MAG or another of the games that I mentioned, which I have been increasingly. The problem with these is that I live in New Zealand, a long way from the majority of the population or players who play BO. So I can't reliably get a barebones match with a good connection and if I tried to play game battles I would have to play on a single red bar which is no fun and I would be severely disadvantaged.
So I think that with the 2 Feb release of the Killzone 3 demo my Black Ops case will begin to collect dust for me, it will also be that last Call Of Duty game I buy. Does anyone else feel the same or similar? Or have any suggestions for me to try and have a bit more fun or get some more satisfaction out of Black Ops before the retail release of Killzone 3?

Aggressive camper is the deadliest oxymoron you will ever play online.
Some very good points there flight and to be honest I don't really have any thing to say that may answer your question. I'm still relatively new to the online gaming scene granted that just by visiting this site puts me miles above "average Joe". This is also my first COD title I've seriously gotten into so it's really the standard in my mind.
KZ3 looks like a great game and the dev diary they did where they showcased some melee moves and talked about the controls really got me interested. I might not get it right away but if people start raving about it I'll definitely check it out.
I forgot Bioshock 2 had MP lol

You know what I mean, moving from position to position depending on the flow of the game. A combination of the two, more on the camping side of things but still moving around the map to the action.

Well I got in a few games with Leo and crew on Saturday. Went okish for a bit, got my ass kicked for the most part, then finally broke even on Radiation going 21-19 I think. Thats when the game kicked me out and said "you have to be logged into the PSN to play this game. So I went to the chat room we were using and low and behold, I'M ON-FUCKING-LINE! Couldn't get back to the party so reloaded the game by going back to the main menu where for the 50th time it acts like I just put the game in for the first time, then got another game in with the party went and had some pizza came back, looked at the BLoPs box cover and thought, "Screw that for a load of hassle." and stuck in DCUO.
Sorry for not getting back on Leo, but this game gets on my nerves more than MW2 got on Streets.

I hear ya, bro... It did the 're-configure' thing to me as well yesterday.
Do you remember when R2 lobbies were bad? This is starting to make me wish for those days again.
In the end I turned it off and played Fallout3 instead, getting stuck inside a rusty bedstead was far more enjoyable it turned out and, with a simple re-load of the game save, far easier to fix.

It did the same to me. I have just reported someone for an offensive username and then got kicked off the server. Very strange. I put R:FoM campaign in for some giggles. I had completely forgotten how different the controls are for that game!
Anyone know how I report an offensive user name? The in-game report feature will only go to 3arc I guess, but I want this idiot wiped from PSN too.

Lol, true, I also meant R2 before the 1.02 patch and before people started to abuse the wraith as a result.

So he's using second chance, the most annoying perk in the game. The most over powered weapon in the game, the AK74u. The RCXD the most annoying kill streak reward in the game and he's using the dead body glitch.
I would hate to play him. Most annoying player ever?

It's the AK47 I think. Still the most dirty play I've ever seen in this game.
Prestiged again today. I used that wager match trick and got first place in a high roller match! For some reason I only got 25K CP. The little message said 1st place would get 30K. Oh well.
