Sweet so I can get my level even higher thus reinforcing the confusion about how I'm a decently high level with such a small amount of skill! Huzzah! |

Just like me when I pretty much boosted my way to 70. God how I regret doing that Leo, if that offer still stands, i think I have a cinema I'd want you to have a look at and possibly upload. I don't get rampants and do not claim myself as a pro player or anything like that, but I did have a game which I was quite pleased with in terms of how I played. I've sent it, just remember that once triple cash weekend is over, the file gets corrupt. Make haste, young lad |

| For each special event (cash multiplier, title update, lab etc) ND has to tweak the MP and thus making an update.
So for instance, now it's 1.09.068. When the weekend ends, they will go back to the default MP, making it 1.09.069.
A cinema sent during 1.09.068 will not be synchronized with v 1.09.069. |

For what it's worth, your level of skill matches a XX pretty well. |

This is something that you guys don't seem to understand, the misconception that being a higher level means you are better. Sure, being a higher level does reap the benefits of having access to better boosters and you can assume that they should also have better weapon and map knowledge. Other than those minor advantages level means nothing. It is only a way to gauge how long someone has been playing. For example I could get to level XXX getting one kill every 100 matches and dying 15 times each match, sure it would take me longer than most people but I would get there and just because I got there doesn't mean I am any better than someone who is a level X. The same goes for someone who is a lower level just because you are lower than someone doesn't mean you are worse, I mean look at Doctrine_Dark_, a level 18 if you saw him against you in a match a low level 18 you wouldn't think much of him (no offence Reo) but when you look at his stats they are pretty good. So I would like to know, Reo why did you bother to boost to level 70, I mean you already had all of the skins and boosters unlocked... what was the point? - Turtle wrote:

Again, what is the skill of a level XX? Just because you see someone who is a level XX doesn't mean that they are any better than a level X. |

| That's only partly true. While level isn't always a sure-fire gauge of skill, in my experience, it mostly has been. A high level indicates a player who has stayed with the game for a long period of time, which in most cases will mean that he knows how to play the game, even if he had to learn how the hard way. |

| GGs tonight, melons, Mitch, and Wolf, sorry I left you guys when you were you going into the custom game but since I leave for vacation tomorrow I wanted to get the full benefit of the 3x weekend today, want to get my XIV lol
To address the whole getting a level after a certain period I personally only want to get the XIV because I think it is really cool, that is basically what it means now, I don't particularly care for the two skins that you get at level 70 and 80 |

| Those of us who play/played U2 know that level isn't a gauge of skill probably better than most online gamers. Though turtle is right. Experience generally makes a good player. |

| Level = Experience Using the old "A level 18 can be just as good as a level 60" don't fly well in this game. Usually that means that there is a high level person behind it (as in my case). It is EXTREMELY rare to see someone new to the game go in and put up good scores. Before all the boosting and cash multipliers, high levels were in MOST cases people who had played the game longer, thus naturally gaining more experience which in turn more or less meant that he/she was skillful. I will say this, if you have played to a certain level, you SHOULD have picked up a few things along the way. This is where our opinions might differ: I expect a certain level of skill depending on what badge you are wearing. I know some disagree with me and that's fine. It has all do to personal opinions and how we choose to view at certain things. Of course there are rare occasions where a high level will be a co-op person mainly, but as far as I'm concerned, that is quite rare. Why I chose to boost to 70 was mainly due to getting "Dutch", which seems really silly right now, but fun back then. Besides, since ND raised the levels from 60 to 80, I just lost my view on the black badge that I had from the start. Reaching level 60 was something HUGE in my book, but nothing to try to skip to as fast as possible. To me, it meant that you had played the game quite a lot and learned most of what the game had to offer. After the raise, people became obsessed with reaching it (like me) and by boosting, the "balance" got messed up. Now you can see level 40's with the 3 "xXx". This was really odd when I got into Uncharted 2. So yeah, things have changed, but my expectations on myself are quite the same. When I reach a level, I expect myself to be a lot better as a player than earlier. I do respect those who have a different view on it, though |

| I think they made too big of a jump going from 60-80, I think they should have done 60-70 at first and then do a jump from 70-80 a couple of months later, they really should give us access to negatives sooner in U3, I personally wouldn't mind having one available from the word go lol |

| In terms of Level = Experience: yes. However, this does not mean that a player is necessarily "good." That level number can be associated with how long the player has played the game. Playing a long time will give a player experience with weapons, maps, and strategies. They have become experienced in these areas and their rank number can reflect this.
Does this automatically mean they're "good" players? No. I've seen stats of high level players that may not be the greatest out there but they still have that high ranking. In the case of U2 (which is the same as R2) that rank is based on multiple game modes and in some ways can mean nothing about how good the player is competitively. There could be players who enjoy the co-op mode and haven't touched the competitive and still have high ranks.
This isn't to say that there aren't any "good" high ranking players out there. With the way the ranking system is designed in U2 a combination of factors determine a player's rank such as: - a player's kill count - a player's medal earnings - a player's team contributions - a player's successful and unsuccessful co-op levels.
In order to level up, a player has to contribute to at least one of those categories and through that he or she gains experience in the game. Experience "quality" -- as in what kind of situations the player is presented with over the course of his or her playing career -- will vary of course but the player is still experienced. Because of the way this leveling system works, there will players with a variety of different skill sets and strengths and there will people who will be "good" at one part of the game but not so good at another.
Now, can you have a person who has never played the game before hop in and just blow the competition out of the water? Yes, of course you can. It probably won't happen often though and there are other factors to consider too such as is this a secondary account or is this just a player having a exceptionally "good" or bad day and is not playing at his or her usual skill level.
In the end, it's not easy to say X = Y as there's just so many other factors to consider. |

| Thanks for some awesome games tonight; Leo the toxicated, Bruja the BBQ experiment, darkshadow of moy land and Mitchell the....the....well, thanks to Mitchell too. Sorry about my mic acting up, not sure what happened since it was fine on my part. I will definitely look into it, though. Overall, this day has contained some of my most frustrated moments in gaming ever. I've played extremely lagging players pretty much all day and finally I just couldn't bother even caring about it, haha. Fun using the negs (BoH) again, you can actually tell that they make you better as player. Now it's off to bed, so night y'all |

| Fawlty, just had look at that cinema of yours. Impressive stuff, buddy! Now you see for yourself that you are improving, just keep it up. Been playing with the double negs on today too and it sure has it's bad moments, haha. The best of today was going 17-0 with glassjaw & come get some. The worst was going negative against full parties with notorious players who pretty much controlled the map from the start. |
