I wouldn't mind being a being a Cordyceps fungi head guy in MP. ND is certainly capable of Co-op and MP additions to a great SP. It would be a great story for a local Co-op because of the man and Ellen Page girl character being a team. I have grown to hate some AI, tho nothing ND has ever put out has made me hate their characters. Overall in spite of some MP problems I have had with ND I really like the studio and think they could really do a great job.

i hope they dont force multiplayer into the game, i dont mind have a game that is only single player. A game can have a pretty high rate of replay value even if it dose not have multiplayer . It seems like almost every game that comes out know has a requirment to put in some form of multiplayer function.
Exactly why I've been feeling they should only do co-op, if anything.
I can see why they didn't do co-op though. Adding another person would completely kill the tone they're going for. My guess is that they gave it a try but decided against it. A lot of designing games is thinking something sounds fun when it's on paper, and then prototyping it and realizing it isn't.
Also, but I doubt the majority of non-gamers would respond well to a young girl getting shot in the face or clubbed to death with a lead pipe, which is something you can easily avoid by keeping it singleplayer. Notice how the baddies never tried to attack mini-Ellen Page outside of the scripted sequences. If you went multiplayer, it would necessitate that both players come under fire. ND could've gone with new characters for a separate co-op thing, but I defer to my above statement. (Or maybe it was fun! But they decided they wouldn't be able to get it to a releasable state. Who knows?)

if they were to have multiplayer (which outside of this topic I havent heard anything of at all) I think it would be cool to do it like spintercell conviction, 1v1 on a big open map with lots of AI enemies. for example say your both in a hospital filled with enemies that are also looting the place, and you need to scavenge things, and fight AI as well as other players over those. you start with nothing but as you explore the place you find ammo, weapons and other useful stuff, as well as what ever thing you try to get to score points.

the most amazing thing about this game to me is just how good everything looks. It actually looked better then watchdogs graphically, and watch dogs is running on a high end PC while last of us is running on a PS3, which is 6 year old tech.
I think they look pretty much the same, tbh... The Watch Dogs demo had much more happening on screen at any given time, though. Look at the amount of characters on screen, as well as the viz effects (like when he whips out the gun and everything slow-mo's, or the reflections on the car when he drives away). You also have to remember it's open world, which normally has different tech behind it. I think a better comparison would be to 1313, which looks to be a linear game as well. The bit with him jumping around the outside of the ship? Dear lord...
I love that this game looks all serious and horrifying. Like when Joel lights the guy on fire and mini-Ellen Page says "holy shit Joel," and he grunts "keep it together."
yes there is all that, but regardless it is still on 6 year old tech,

Personally I think the PS3 is hitting its peak, games look great and will probably only get better as new engines come out. I think its going to get two more years. I would enjoy your version of MP nobody. As far as the girl character not getting hurt I think that sucks. I would love to see her stabbing and shooting, getting hurt and croaking will probably be handled UC style.

Comic-Con trailer. Little slower and more quiet, still looks freaking fantastic.

Loved the new cutscene. This game just keeps looking better and better every time I see it. The voice acting, like any other ND game, is fantastic.

Thats does it ND why don't you just reach in my pocket and take out $60. This game is on my preorder list for sure. I rewatched this on Youtube and saw that new character is actor W. Earl Brown who was a bad ass in Deadwood . ND really made the character he voices look like him.

There is a difference between the two tho. I am willing to give ND the benefit of the doubt, even tho certain aspects of certain MP games suck imo I have always enjoyed the SP campaigns. I WILL pre order this one. IG will have to earn my respect first.

yea, pretty much that.
I have so much faith in the people that work at ND. when I heard jason rubin (co founder of ND) was the new ceo of thq, I took all $3k of stocks I had and put them all into thq. now the stocks went from $.69 to over $5. turned 3k into over 20k

it takes place all throughout the country.
this is the exact same thing I saw at PAX. they said it was a live playthrough, and had a guy in the back with a controller, but I dont see how it would be identical.

Apparently there is a system in this where, when brutally taking out an enemy, the game engine analyses nearby objects in order to create a number of different possibilities for killing him, i.e this game won't be as scripted as one might think. I've even heard that the segment in the E3 demo can play out a completely different way .
