the insoles aren't that bad, except compare them to everything else you could have instead. The glider lets you fly around and dive bomb, the grappling hook lets you go up to just about anywhere, the spring boots are an anywhere trampoline, and the skates speed up movement, as well as give you the highest air out of anything if you go off a jump. By comparison the insoles let you get a bit more air in your regular jumps. About half the height of the springboots/trampolines which means to get up on top of most buildings requires either finding a tramp, or double jumping onto a fence or something like that and jumping from that up. The only advantage you have with it is you can fire while using it. And since you can't get anywhere near the same hang time its not quite relevant. Also it has the longest cooldown of all the other abilities as far as I am aware

Oh see. I didnt know about the cool down. But thats how he used it. He was jumping all around and the poor rocket noobs didnt have a chance. By the time they would finally get a line on him they were dead.
Ill have to play with them and see whats up.

ah, I know why you thik the insoles are great. you dont know how good the spring boots are do you? the spring boots are my go to movment item.
at any time I get a jump equal to a tramp jump except I cant use anything while I am in the air. I can get on almost any roof from almost any angle. (I use them in the alleys to jump over the buses blocking the main road) and in combat it can be used to easily escape. say I am face to face with you we are both shooting each other then I activate my spring boots, I rocket out of your sight, as far as you know I was just there one moment and gone the next. I am floating above you and I look down to see what yo are doing and I control where I want to land (I usually land behind them and shoot them in the back) I have NEVER had anyone track me from ground to air when I do this. generally they run around trying to find me, but ive never seen them look up. not when I am doing this from 5 feet from them. and I can use it again as soon as I land. My favorite place to do this is on the amusement park on the one base with the hedge. I im in the circular area where the machine is in both modes. and I jump back on the other side of the hedge and then when they come to follow I jump back over and land behind them, or sometimes I will run around the hedge out of sight, then bound over the hedge and land behind them as they try to follow me. or ill be on top of the hedge and shoot at poeple from up there.
I also use the spring boots to just move faster. I think it may be the fastest mode of transportation. I can get from 1 end of the alley to the other in about 10 to 15 seconds. also the boots do need you to charge them up before you can use them however when you do charge them up you still have full normal movement. still run at same speed and can still jump. so there is no reason not to, and the cool down on the jump is over before you even end up touching the ground, you can jump with em charge up and have them ready to instantly jump again as soon as you land. honestly I dont know why more people dont use the sprindg boots.

Newest upload INBOUND! I'll likely upload one more tomorrow, as well, as the two vids highlight two different class loadouts. That'll be 3 different loadouts that I became fairly comfortable with in this beta, that play quite differently. What a refreshing FPS! (^_-)d
Again, if anyone would do me the favor & put my latest vid "Best Slayer Class?" up in here, I'd appreciate it. If not, I'll get to it when I get back home from work. It was still uploading when I left the house...

told ya. skates rule!
huntsman is great if you can aim. if you arent that precise, stay away from it until you can purchase the ext. mags. also using the lighter missile with the rocket launcher while going off the ramps pays off really well if you can get a good trajectory around "2" in fumigation.

LOL. You didn't tell me shit, cockboy. (^_^)v As I said in the commentary, "Prismatic-" told me about this class. I've just been keeping it under wraps until I could get the vid out. But yes, skates do indeed rule! Basically played this class during mid-beta & tomorrow's vid will be what I played near the end. Had to play on two accounts through the beta just so I could mess with multiple classes. (>_<)
Now the BIG question is...
Should I make a new account for GCI only? I've got a name I've been wanting to use...
Oh & thanks to Cobalt & Dingo for posting the vid up. (^_-)d

chuu!
How was the stability of your connection to the servers Red? Wadey has been getting booted off of rounds left and right for no apparent reason. It might just be some bug to do with being in a party.
edit: question on that loadout: does that motion sensor catch people that are invisible?

I'm not a fan of the dollar skates, but that's probably cuz it just doesn't mesh well with my play style. And I dont like the conventional weapons. (my main weapon of choice is the bombadier)

Haha! You f*cking asshole! Using my "chu" against me & shizzle. <3!
Actually, the servers weren't very problematic for me during the beta. I had a couple of run-ins with dropped party members, but we just had to remain patient & we'd all get in after something like 5 attempts. Sure, it sucked, but ultimately in the end it was worth it. Also, I don't think I was ever booted out of rounds. Maybe it's Wadey's ghetto connection? LOLZ!
You know what? I had never really thought about whether or not the motion sensor picked up NSBers, but looking back at the vid there was a moment when I shot just behind the other team's propaganda machine & I'm pretty sure it's because she showed up on the sensor. I think it would make sense since there is a specific attribute that takes you off of sensors & makes you "unmarkable".
Oh & as of this post, the game still isn't available in the PSN. (T_T)

Quote :
The next chapter of Impostors, yours for free!
Thank you. Thank you for the valuable feedback you gave us during the beta. Thank you for your time chatting with us on our forums, Twitter, and Facebook. And most of all, thank you for your support. Now, what say we get down to thanking you the way that you deserve to be thanked - with free stuff!
But, first things first - know that when the game launches it’ll do so with the assistance of an army of new dedicated servers to drastically reduce latency issues. Along with that we’ve slightly decreased the Thunder Dragon’s damage to put it on a more even playing field, fixed the quick-scope exploit, made other weapon balance tweaks and even spent some additional time optimizing maps to help with some frame-rate issues. (Oh, and we added some more Calling Card unlocks at the early levels. So, enjoy those!)
But we’re not stopping with that. In March we’re going to release our very first DLC for the low, low price of FREE. Just what’s in store for the first Gotham City Impostors DLC? Let us tell you!
A BRAND NEW MAP: The 25th Floor of the Gotham Times building is about to be your playground for destruction! (Just make sure not to fall of the edge.) JOIN-IN-PROGRESS: Players can now join a match, even after it has started! MATCHMAKING FIXES: Matchmaking has been totally revamped! Those errors you remember? They’re a thing of the past. Gone. Finito. NEW WEAPONS: The Falcon Blade (a bullet-blocking katana worthy of warfare in Gotham) and the Kingmaker (a quick-draw pistol that can humble even the mightiest of Mighties) are available for you to unlock! A NEW SUPPORT ITEM: Toxic Gas! Leave a cloud of nigh-invisible noxious vapors in your wake, that will impair and damage those foolish enough to follow you. A MULTITUDE OF NEW COSTUME CHOICES: In addition to the myriad of costume items already available, we’re letting you dress up like a luchador, a corporate schlub gone mad, and so much more! NEW FUN FACT: The new Nimble Fingers Fun Fact will let you capture Gasblasters faster, and attach/detach batters quicker. The team’s clutch player? Yeah, that’s you. MUTE EARLY, MUTE OFTEN: Ever wanted to squelch that guy blasting techno in the pre-game lobby? Now you can! Easy peezy, lemon squeezy.
Gotham City Impostors is a living, breathing game. We’re here to support you. So go ahead and enjoy this first pack of excitement on us.
See you in Gotham!
See that all other devs. Take notes!
