| Hmm.. Was I only the only one that liked Black ops ? It was a thousand times better than any of the Modern Warfare games, better balanced and overall just a better experience.

| Been reading a lot of this game, the mechanics sound awesome, the new perk system, Killstreak system Etc. Then I saw videos of it and was kinda taken back.. :O this looks just COD .. Nothing has changed in the gameplay. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Of course nothing is changed... |

| I don't like the fact that there is still panic knifing and that the health is not black ops life, but more like how it is in MW3...

to my knowledge it was the same in BO1. 3-4 shots from an AR you're dead, 2-3 from SMG CQ dead. 1-2 from shottie to Med. range, dead. |

| I thought it was 7 shots in the torso, 3 in the head with an AR
5 shots to the torso, 3 in the head with an SMG. |

They're also adding the FMJ attachment. Lower TTK. - jolli-timer wrote:

| It could be.. :/ Seriously, though It felt like I was pumping a shit loads of bullets into my enemy's... Then again... when I did run with an AR I used a silencer...
honestly I mostly ran with the L96A1 during my black ops time...
[Edit] First Game in BO1 in 6 months.. 21-12 sniping, 3 ballistic knife kills, 3 C4 thrown kills and 1 tomahawk... I'm ready for BO2. |

Ummmm..... if no skill is required than why are there players on youtube who can get great KD's consistently and don't camp/use OP weapons ?, just sounds like you are having an unnecessary rage at a game that hasn't even been released. |

Ahahahhaha, those people. Do you listen to them? Even they say that the game isn't all about gun skill and is more based on lag-factor, host, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Not only that, how often do you see them roll about in TDM WITHOUT their buddies? Stacked teams make it easy. Only two who actually do have skill are probably Hutch and Seananners. Also, the videos of their "great" KD's are usually the good game out of the 10 bad/decent ones they played cause above factors weren't in play for them, or just no stacked team. Even they themselves say that it is hard to go consistently good just because of so many factors that affect the game, as well as the fact that most of them do camp and use OP weapons (WingsofRedemption, Seananner's does camp, BlameTruth) Basically, all the machinima guys pretty much do all of that stuff, if you have watched them since they started getting on Machinima. And its not rage, its the gods honest truth. |

| There are reason's why some are better than others i.e map and spawn knowledge, accuracy etc. You are making it sound as if it is all based on luck half the time. BTW there are guys on youtube who have 4.0 KD's and get insane gameplays when not in parties. If it was all based on "non skill" factors then no above-average gamer would play online.

| If you can get constant 3.0KD + games with a PM-9, then that's pretty skillful.
(Not that I get 3.0KDs with it ) |

But, it's true. Before I go further into that, I'd like to point out that you can preserve your KDR easily by quitting a match that you're not doing well in. Now then, back to the luck thing. It used to be [and still is, somewhat, depending on the game] where you'd need to shoot ahead of a target. This distance varied based on the connection quality of you, your target, and the host/server. For most shooters nowadays, the netcode is designed to calculate whether or not it was possible for the shooter to hit their target. P1 is behind cover already, but P2 has a bad connection. On P2's screen, P1 will be out of cover. P2 shoots P1. Calculations are made and verify that P1 was in the open on P2's screen, and says that P2 should earn the kill. P1 dies behind impenetrable cover. Just about every shooter has a random firing cone. There can also be random recoil patterns, and some games randomly jam semi-auto/burst weapons. [CoD, BF3] Add in aim assist to mess with the recoil and bullet spread for more randomness. When a gameplay mechanic like flinching is present, in addition to low TTK, the resulting gameplay is usually "Guy that pulls the trigger first wins the gunfight." Add in all the variables with latency/ping/lag and it becomes a gamble. Toss in the variables of custom loadouts with progression-unlocks and any perk or killstreak system, and the playing field becomes much more randomized. In addition to all of this, matchmaking is usually terrible, and high-ranking players will fight low-ranking players. Organized groups will fight randoms. Yes, there's still a subtle requirement of skill to overcome all these variables, but it feels minor. After realizing all of this, I've stopped caring about my stats, and as such, my performance and interest in "competitive" multiplayer has been decreasing. For me, there's not much motivation beyond winning the match to perform well. |
