| I've managed to get Gold on MTAR, AN-94, and FAL (in that order). I now can't decide which weapon to use as they all have their advantages. I'm playing about with the Type 25 now I think it's that one, it's the first AR with the burst fire). It's impressive.
What is proving tough is getting headshots with the LSAT (I would like to get the gold camo for it) and with the KAP-40 which I also want the gold camo for. For both of them I am struggling to get the 100 headshots needed. Best tips for HS with those weapons (apart from 'aim at the head, dummy!') ?

| Marlb says to get in the habit of aiming above and moving your reticule down onto their head rather than moving up onto it, he's kinda scientifically minded when it comes to all things CoD so I'm inclined to trust his opinion. Recently set up the Type 25 in a class to start on 'Golding' it myself... Give it a spin with the Acog sight, (get the 'orange-drop' reticule unlocked and it's much nicer than the default) once you get used to the extra zoom it becomes a really powerful, accurate rifle. |

| Me and Daniel both got the Revolution map pack, I put a couple of hours into the new zombie map "Die Rise". I really like the map, it's big, fresh and a proper continuation to the maps from Black Ops 1. My top round so far is round 18 although I could have gone longer if I hadn't checked my laptop screen . It's very confusing but I'm getting the hang of the layout, how the map works etc. It is VERY easy to get the new wonder weapon (the Sliquifier) on this map, you have to find 4 parts and craft it at a work bench, the great part is that these 4 pieces are all in a few specific spots across 2 floors which are immediately accessible from the first "room". I have already learnt all the locations and can easily build the gun by round 3 . The gun itself is quite balanced, if you shoot the goo straight at a group of zombies it chain-kills the whole group albeit fairly slowly compared to the Wunderwaffe. However, it will not save your butt in tight situations and can prove hazardous if too much of the goo gets on the ground, it makes your character slide everywhere and scatters your nice group of zombies. The new special enemies are cool and the map design is well done though I can see this being a tough map in co-op, due to the fact that there are many shafts and drops which can prevent you from reaching large parts of the map unless you use the elevators ,which are not wholly reliable. Overall, great map, after playing tons of Blops 1 zombies and disliking Blops 2 zombies (have played no more than a few hours since release), I think I may get back into it again ! |

| I have diamond camo on the assault rifles, currently working on getting at least a 1.0 K/D on each gun. Also working on finishing up the sniper rifles, have the Ballista and DSR-50 done, working on the XPR-50 now (not a big fan of the other one). Currently taking a break to focus on Star Wars the Old Republic but I can still foresee being a Prestige Master before the end of June........... |

| I'm coming up to my fourth prestige soon. No COD game has drawn me in like this one has. - Leo_337 wrote:

I'll try that tip, thanks. It'll be hard though as my default aim is at the floor! Been like that since FoM and it's a hard habit to break. |

| I personally don't like using the ACOG on any full auto gun (I use it on the SWAT-556, SMR, and M8A1), 1-2 bounces and I'm doomed. However, putting Select Fire and ACOG on a gun and it works pretty well for me, although my trigger finger in this game is pretty darn good compared to other games I have played. |

| Me and Dan had a big session with the dlc last night, it's a pretty sweet selection of maps. I like Downhill a lot, Grind is really cool, Hydro is decent, the only map I don't really like is mirage. Oh, and the Peacekeeper is awesome |

| Already have the Peacekeeper done, its like taking a the best qualities of a submachine gun and the best qualities of an assault rifle and putting them together, its great. Haven't played this in awhile, been too busy with PC gaming as of late. |

| ^ That's the precise reason as to why I love it. Having the long range benefits coupled with manoeuvrability means it's a great gun to use.
Although I find it a bit weird when the devs advertised it as a "revolutionary hybrid of an Assault Rifle and an SMG!"
So... a carbine. Like the MTAR. And the MSMC... |

| The only problem with the Peacekeeper is that without the foregrip if you get into a gunfight with someone where you are aiming your bullets are going to go all over the place (but mostly over the enemy's head) |

| Peacekeeper has really bad recoil. I think I will try and get gold for it though. I find the trick is to burst fire with it. The downside to that is that it gives your enemy more time to kill you.
Been playing around with the Type 25 and SMR. Not sure I get the Type 25 -- I can do much more work with the AN-94. I might just put it away again. As for the SMR, on paper it looks like a beast, but I'm not getting as much success with it as I expected. In fact, I do better with the FAL. I'll stick with it a bit longer and see how it pans out.
As for LMGs, again the ones with the highest damage on paper still don't seem to work as well as the LSAT for me. Perhaps it's just familiarity. |

| I find the trick with the Peacekeeper is to almost 'quickscope' with it, the aim-assist-box for it is huge and in the first instance of ADS it seems to put all of its bullets on target for you, I don't know if that's purely on the iron sights or not, but that's all I've used with it so far. |

| Aim assist? What is this of which you speak? Have I been missing out on something obvious again all this time? (Remember when you told me about the Marksman aim assist on R2 when the game had been out about 6 months?) |

| It should be automatically enabled for you, check your options next time you play a match. As for the SMR, its probably my favorite gun in the game, followed by the AN-94, M27, and the Peacekeeper. |

| I've never noticed the aim assist -- not aware that my aim is helped any. Maybe I should turn it off and see what happens, eh? |

| You can.. But you'll definitely miss it when it isn't there, it gets rid of the annoying 'wander' of your sight if an enemy crosses near to where you're 'ADS'ing but makes it harder to keep your reticule over a target and slows the automatic snap-to-aim that you get with certain guns. I tried it quite recently without it and found it more frustrating to get hits on target so switched back. Each to his own though, obviously, give it a go and see what you reckon. The Peacekeeper aim is almost the same as the Marksman aim assist, although nowhere near as potent... If I remember rightly the Marksman would auto aim the head every time you hit but with the Peacekeeper it's a lot less accurate, however it does give you that oh so important first shot on target though, that wins so many CoD gunfights. |

| Gah !!, Die Rise is a pain to get a high round on, it's really hard to get anywhere due to the map's design, I always die on my way to buy more perks or purchase better weapons. The one time I had all my perks and hunkered down to train I got to round 18, yet to repeat that.
The problem is that usually in zombies you leave a crawler at the end of a round to give you time to stock up on supplies, get perks etc. However in Die Rise you often jump between the buildings to reach these perks and the crawlers just die (while trying to come after you) and start the next round. There are only a couple of good training spots and they are far away from the perks, if you go to grab a perk and the zombies die than you are basically screwed as, due to the map's design, you have to use elevators to get back to the best spots, using these mid rounds 10+ is very difficult !.
An example from today, I was at round 15 with no downs, 3 perks and decent guns. I went to upgrade one of my weapons after leaving a few slower zombies stumbling around to give me time. I jumped across to the next building and the zombies die trying to follow me over. The next round starts and I'm still waiting for the elevator to come down with the pack a punch machine. Unfortunately, most of the perks are in a building full of maze-like , tight corridors. I try to escape but have no chance as the elevators are the only way out, 20 seconds later it's game over.
It's a fun map but there are a few annoying issues due to the way it's designed. I should be able to get to a decent round if only I can get adequate supplies before the later rounds. |

| Has any one tried the mobster map Alcatraz ?
BEST MAP EVER !
The design is great and the map is huge and there is a lot to do. My freind and i figured out how to get to the pack a punch, but i don't think there is a way to power up everything like in the old map , You basically get a whos whos perk permanently ( when you die you can revive yourself ) But now you can make your self go into this mode to go threw hidden doors and areas to turn bits and pieces of power back on but so far i haven't seen a way to just turn everything on at once |

| I got the map, made it to round 21 both solo and in co-op. I have kinda got everything sorted about it now except for the couple of easter eggs. I know the layout pretty well, got the new tomahawk and all the new guns, made it to the pack a punch machine, ( you have to find 5 plane parts to travel there from the roof).
It's a really cool map, I might go for a high round once I have had a little more practice with it. |
