- That's not a bad strategy, but I prefer this: (WARNING:Dangerously Cheap!)
Cloud Weapon: Ultima Weapon Armor: Escort Guard Accessory: Ribbon Important Materia: Restore (Cure 3, Regen), Time (Haste), Enemy Skill (Big Guard, Laser), Mime(SUPER IMPORTANT), Morph, Double Cut is a plus but not necessary, Contain Optional -Summons (KOTR if you have it, Bahamut Zero if you have it)
I pick the Ultima Weapon because I know I can keep Cloud's HP high so I'll almost always do max damage. I pick the Escort Guard over the Mystile because of it's good defense coupled with multiple elemental nulls, but specifically the Water null because of the high chance of fighting the Sea Serpent thing (Can't remember it's exact name.). It is commonly the last enemy, and it only has 3 attacks, two of which are water based and one is physical. And immunity to Earth, Bolt, and Poison don't hurt either. I pick the Ribbon because....well, you know.......it's the dang Ribbon! Immunity to status effects is just awesome. Restore, Contain, and Double Cut are all pretty obvious. Time for haste. Yes, Big Guard does cast Haste too, but it also costs about 56 MP. Haste alone is much cheaper. Mime (SUPER CHEAPNESS) for doing a limit break or powerful summon and then immediately again, for free in the case of summons, for the rest of the fight (unless my Command Materia gets broken). Laser and Morph are there because you just can't have enough Ribbons! Oh, Blessed Ochu! Thou art awesome.
Btw,Erik, what's that good way to beat the Weapons? I'm always on the lookout for another good strategy. Is it the Hades thing? 'Cause that's a good one, too. Here is the strategy for the Weapons....It's EXTREMELY cheap but it works. These strategies aren't 100% full proof, you will find yourself relying on luck for the Ruby fight because he counters with Ultima after every KotR and if he uses Ruby Beam right after it's game over. Ruby Weapon Cloud Setup Weapon: Ultimate Weapon Armor: Mystile (The Mystile is the best armor because it causes enemies to miss very often, this is the luck part I was talking about.) Accessory: Ribbon Materia: Knights of the Round paired with HP Absorb, Enemy Skill (Big Guard), Mime, W-Summon, Also make sure Cloud has 9999 HP using HP Plus Materia (You'll need it). Yep that's all the Materia you need for this battle. However, it may be good to put some other ones on just for the AP at the end of the battle. First off you need to make sure that before you actually get into this battle that you get into a random battle before hand and kill off your other two characters because if you go into this fight with all three alive Ruby sucks two down into the sand at random. This way you ensure that Cloud is the character you are using. After that is done go fight Ruby. Start the battle off by casting Big Guard. On the next turn use W-Summon to cast Knights of the Round twice (Don't worry if KotR is still level one the game will still let you select it twice it will just tell you that the summon is used up on the second time you try to cast it) After your KotR is done the HP Absorb is going to fill your life bar all the way up which should cover you in case Ruby actually connects with Ultima. Every turn after this just use Mime and you will continue to cast two KotR's every turn for 0 MP! Rinse and Repeat and he should be dead in no time. Emerald WeaponPretty much use the same set up for Cloud that you used for the Ruby fight except transfer your Enemy Skill to a different character to make getting KotR out faster and make sure someone has the Underwater Materia. You may also want to use Final Attack paired with Phoenix just in case Emerald happens to kill Cloud. One VERY important thing about this fight is the number of Materia you have on Cloud. DO NOT fill more than 8 Materia slots because most of you know that Emerald has an attack called "Aire Tam Storm" if you notice "Aire Tam" is "Materia" spelled backwards. This attack does 1111 damage for every Materia slot you have filled so if you have 9 Materia slots filled it's instant death for you and there is not guarantee that even with Final Attack and Phoenix that Emerald won't use this twice. Basically do the EXACT same thing for Emerald that you did with Ruby, Cast KotR twice and Mime it up. The other two characters are good to keep alive just as meat shields but MAKE SURE the other characters aren't using any kind of counter or else it's going to screw up your Mime. |

| Not bad, but I can be cheaper! A few improvements. One set of Master Materia is advisable for either fight, of course, but if you can do it with less that's great. Final Attack/Pheonix is always good. And W-Summon/Mime as well. Still with you so far. Specifically for the Ruby Weapon try summoning Hades. Now, when you do this and a whopping 250 damage pops up you'll say "WHAT?!" like my friend did when he tried this. But wait and look closely. Ruby's tentacles are still going, but the Weapon itself is now afflicted with Stop. Yes, Stop! He's gonna sit there and let you wail on him with KOTR until it wears off. And when it does, just cast Hades again. Caution: it might now always inflict Stop. If it doesn't just cast it again. Trust me, it does work. My strategy for Emerald is pretty much the same as yours(Sadly, he/she/it is immune to Hades. ) , but I usually take in a Master Materia set to that one too. In fact, it usually ends up that I get one set, use the Weapons then get a large chunk of AP out of the way for my second (Apocalypse's/Simitar's triple growth, nom nom nom) , and acquire the last set for beating 'ol Emy. |

| *Ascends stage. Takes small statue of baby chicken* Thank you! Thank you all! I really didn't expect to win the Cheapy Award on my first nomination. (sniffle) I have a short list of people whom I would like to thank.*unfurls large list* First of all I'd like to thank the Red Mage Academy of Min/Maxing Cheapness where I got my degree in cheapology. The Ancients, of course. Without you none of this would have been possible. You, too, Jenova! Stand up and take a bow.*covers face with tentacle in embarrassment and waves off applause*. She's a shy one, folks. (7 hours later) And finally, the most important person in my life, me. I don't know where I'd be without all the love and support I've given myself. You're wonderful, me, I love me so much. *takes home trophy, puts on mantle, and admires before setting out to win next year's Cheapy Award with FFX character stat maxing strategy* |

| Final Fantasy 7 definitely one of my Favorite games of all time it's just a great game the story is great and good enough to make spin off like crisis core and Dirge of Cerberus. Now all they need to do is remake it with the ps3 graphics. |

| It would've been a lot better if the tech demo was never released that way fans such as myself wouldn't have to hope for the they bring it out for the ps3. |

| Is this for the handhelds or the consoles? I remember they re-released a few titles with updated cut-scenes that you could only see after beating the games on the PS One. |

Well 1-3 and i think 4 were redone for the handheld consoles so hopefully they switch back to consoles although FF7 could work on the PSP but would work much better on the ps3. |

| Definatly, specially with its engine, can you imagine how pretty it would look. If anything they would probably wait to see how 13 does and make a decision based on that. |

I usually do an FF7 play through about once a year for the nostalgia feeling. I've played the shit out of that game since it came out. OMG I know what you mean. I play it every year in the spring when the daffodils bloom. The smell of the flowers and FF7 for hours on hand give me the best feeling of nostalgia. I also play spyro a ton in the Spring o.O |
