| Been away for a few days now (holiday) but I did do quite a bit on my current character (1st character lol) . Finished Operation Anchorage and, while not as good as the pitt, it was still fun. Game lagged badly for a bit of the end battle but nothing gamebreaking. Heaps of awesome gear though, unique armor and weapons including the awesome Gaus Rifle, damn that gun is BEAST ( excluding small magazine ) . Started Point Lookout and really fun so far. Map is really big for a dlc and story is mysterious and interesting. Got some decent gear already and overall, the early game struggles are a thing of the past. All I need now is to buy more stimpacks which I need help on where to find on the island, does the shop sell them ? . Otherwise, have heaps of decent-great weapons and heaps of ammo too so happy with progress now. |

| Wish I could help, but I don't remember having Stimpack issues there. Could be that I just really stocked up before going in. Best I can say is to just check all around the town area. Many public places should have medkits on the walls. I finished all the DLCs for New Vegas, but now my save file's too big. Be warned about this, Mitch, because it's something shared with FO3. If your save gets too big then you begin running into frequent crashes, and possibly horrendous slowdown. Having a hard time getting anything done now. All the DLCs were great, to be sure, but having done them all I don't think I'll manage to finish the game with this character. Just hit max level too. I think I need to start a fresh one and just stick to the main story if I actually want to end the game. Not too bad as I would have to start over in Hardcore mode anyway, but still. |

| Yeah , Skyrim shared that annoying bug that bethesda have refused to fix until recently. It only started lagging for me at the 90 hour mark (skyrim) anyway so my console resisted for quite a while until the lag took holdat 12mb . At 25 hours in Fallout 3 and only got bad lag in Operation Anchorage (final battle) but by no means safe at all overall. How bad is it really in New Vegas ?, how many hours did you play before you encountered crashes and frequent poor framerates ? .
This Bethesda and PS3 thing is getting rediculous, every game they have ported to the console has had this same problem. This is getting serious which is irritating as thier games are consistently great. Why can't they get thier act together and give us a version on-par with the others ?, we pay the same amount of cash for each version so why is the PS3's so buugy in comparison ? |

| Parent company Zenimax Media, if this article is to be believed. It's (once again) the publisher pushing up the release date and skipping QA. It is a bit encouraging that they did address the issue in Skyrim. But there's no hope of further repairs for FO3 or NV on console, I'm afraid. No more money to be made there. Mine kicked in around the 11K mark, not sure about how long that was, but it was a *long* time, I'm sure. Did have a few instances of bad slowdown earlier on though. Looked into it and apparently that's at least partly the fault of the Gunrunners Arsenal DLC that's included in the Ultimate edition. You might actually be better off to buy the normal edition cheap and then just download the story DLCs. |

| Lol, too late again Monkey haha . Already ordered the Fallout:New Vegas Ultimate edition. It was $58 NZ Brand New and if I bought all the DLC seperately the addons alone would have cost me upwards of $70 , then buying the main game would've added another $35 to the deal . Ultimate Edition was by far the better deal . I may have to make 2 saves to do all the DLC's and side quests but I love the Fallout gameplay formula so I'm sure that will satisfy me let alone that minor-major annoyance of lag and crashes.
Yes, I am happy with what Bethesda have done to the PS3 version of Skyrim but that was after 3 months, when many had already given up on the game's issues ever being even partially fixed. I wish Bethesda could give us a version just as good as the others on release . I suppose Fallout will never be fixed which is dissapointing but at leaset they are starting to learn how to fix these things. Hopefully Fallout 4 will see better results.
They question is , does it spoil the game in any major way ( New Vegas ) |

| I'm at that point in Fallout 3. I've played probably 70-80 hours or so? I still have so much left to do, but it freezes like every 5 minutes when I try to play and I'm worried that it's like wrecking my PS3. Still have Point Lookout, the main story, some side quests, and Broken Steel to finish.... |

| So I played this last night and only froze a couple times in like 5 hours. Lots of lag, but it was recoverable.
The way I've found to deal with it is that when your framerate plummets and it's basically lagging to all hell, open the pip boy and just wait there for a few minutes. When you come out, it should be better.
I went and beat the main questline last night just incase, because I wasn't sure if I could be able to if my save file got much bigger (the last quest is filled with a whole bunch of giant explosions and things). I have Broken Steel, though, so I can still roam around and do other things, like the Point Lookout DLC which I just started. |

| I'll give that a try, J. Thanks for the tip. I was opening my pip boy and traveling somewhere else whenever it happened. Usually worked, until I had to go back. Wouldn't happen sometimes if I didn't fast travel to a location. Say I'd jumped to somewhere nearby, then walked in instead of just going straight to it. That would work in most of the overworld locations. Wouldn't work in New Vegas proper, or Camp McCarren, etc. Never had any lag problems indoors though. |

| Finished the main questline for point lookout and discovered all locations. Definitely my favourite DLC so far, good story and exploring the huge map was really fun. May do a side quest or two and then it's on to mothership zeta !! |

| Make sure you do a save a ways from the starting point. The scene after you start it is known to be very prone to freezing. |

| Mothership Zeta was pretty good. The alien weapons were so much better than all the weapons I had, though. It was kind of disappointing. (It was the first DLC I played and the DLC weapons WRECK the regular weapons) |

| I'm not sure about the ammo situation though with the Zeta weapons. They all use alien power cells if I remember correctly and I'm not sure if there are any respawning sources of the ammo so what you find may be all you have. The only time I've seen unlimited ammo was when your companion picks up the gun in the game before you do. Lyons seemed very fond of the Alien Blaster and used it all the time despite having 16 ammo for it. ... so I didn't use the alien weapons much after I returned to the Capitol Wasteland. |

| You have a lot more available than you originally did, at any rate. Before Zeta there was only the few next to it and some from the random exploding UFO event. Much larger available now. Can definitely be a gamebreaker. I kept it on hand, but only used it when my normal weapons just wouldn't cut it. |

| Started Mothership Zeta and nearly finished the second quest. Using the FALLOUT wiki to help find all alien recordings on first run through and am on track with that. Good gear here too but story not as engaging as point lookout. So much freaken ammo now and my inventory is ful of those alien blasters which weigh 2 and sell for 200+ caps. Will be rich when I return to the Capital Wasteland . 54% on trophies now and haven't had to go out of my way much apart from making sure to get the missable bobble heads . I like trophy hunting but don't want it to get in the way of enjoying the game itself. Will move onto side quests once this DLC is done. Then only broken steel to go in terms of extra content. Really enjoying the variety in these add-ons , Point Lookout definitely my favourite overall. |

| I don't like Point Lookout for a very specific reason. I'm sure people who've finished understand. - Spoilery reason:
I like my brain in one piece inside my head, thank you very much.

| Finished Mothership Zeta and thank goodness for that, such a drag near the end making it my least favourite DLC. The new weapons are nice but I got sick of the lack of environment and enemy variety. The story was boring as well. |

| Done all but 5 of the side quests. Just finished the one where you have to find 30 nuka-cola quantums. Discovered a nuka-cola truck which had about 5 of them and some normal ones which I converted to quantum due to that perk. Hunting down all the bobble heads now, the platinum is within my reach with only a few more trophies to go. Still heaps to do though with so much unexplored territory and broken steel DLC.
Got the trophy for killing all 5 of those huge mutant things. One of them was accompanied by heaps of normal super mutants and a few who had heaps of health and powerful guns. The entre trophy forced me to use up over 50 stimpacks !!! |
